Finalmente! Un risultato che aspettavamo in tanti, soprattutto Mikko, ovvero, il finlandese vince finalmente un rally iridato! Dopo la beffa in Portogallo, Mikko Hirvonen si rifà alla grande nel Rally d’ Italia Sardegna, dove approfitta del ritiro dei suoi avversari, portandosi cosi subito in testa alla gara, per poi andare a vincerla.
Nella PS16 (la Power Stage finale Gallura 2 di 8.24 km) è Petter Solberg a far segnare il miglior tempo, ovvero di 6’13″4, seguito dal suo compagno di squadra Jari Matti Latvala a +0″2, terzo il belga Thierry Neuville a +4″7, quarto Novikov a +7″1 e quinto, il vincitore del Rally d’ Italia Sardegna Mikko Hirvonen a +11″7.
Nella classifica assoluta va a trionfare Hirvonen con un tempo totale di 3h23’54″9, seguito da un’ ottimo Evgeny Novikov a +1’20″9, terzo Ott Tanak a +2’21″1, quarto il norvegese Mads Ostberg a +3’42″9, che nell’ arco della gara ha fatto segnare piu volte il miglior tempo di ps, e quinto uno scatenato Ogier a +4’27″7.
Si conclude cosi quindi il Rally d’ Italia Sardegna. Appuntamento dall’ 8 al 11 Novembre in Spagna per gustarci assieme l’ ultima gara della stagione e anche l’ ultima gara delle Ford ufficiali.
