La Citroen Racing, vincitrice di 5 titoli Costruttore nel WRC, ha presentato oggi al pubblico la nuova Citroen DS3 R3 che debutterà ufficialmente verso la fine del 2010. Versatile, performante e con un prezzo accessibile, la DS3 R3 è destinata a divenire il nuovo leader della categoria.
La nuova Citroen DS3 R3 è costruita secondo il regolamento FIA per le Gruppo R3T, ha la stessa struttura delle vetture di serie, con la struttura dell’abitacolo rinforzata e rollbar multipoint. Sotto il cofano c’è un 4 cilindri di 1.6 litri THP ( turbo ad alta pressione ) che è stato sviuppato sulla base del propulsore PSA. Tutto è stato scelto con accuratezza per far arrivare la vettura ad una potenza di 210bhp. In aggiunta alla potenza massima è stata posta particolare attenzione alla coppia per migliorare la trazione, ben 350Nm.
La DS3 R3 vanta tutta l’esperienza della Citroen nel WRC, come la Citroen C4 WRC è equipaggiata con un cambio a sei rapporti semi automatico con controllo sequenziale, che permette di cambiare marca due volte piu’ velocemente di un cambio manuale.
Il sistema di sospensioni usa la piu’ recente tecnologia ed è stato costruito per adattarsi a tutte le superfici stradali, dalla terra all’asfalto. C’è un’ampia varietà di setup predefiniti, che rendono la Citroen DS3 R3 adatta a tutti gli stili di guida. La Citroen Racing raccomanda di montare gomme BFGoodrich sulla Citroen DS3 R3.
